A letter to founders

To the founder of a regional management firm.

Dear founder,

Before Adama CP, I was Deputy CEO of Avalon Properties, an Ares Management multifamily platform in Spain, as it grew to roughly 8,000 homes. What stayed with me wasn’t the size. It was month-end: site teams stepping away from residents to assemble the numbers owners needed, pulling them by hand from systems that didn’t talk to each other. The work mattered to owners, and it took the best hours of the people closest to the buildings.

Building Avalon’s operating platform taught me that buying technology is the easy part. The hard part is redesigning the work so teams actually use it, with a named person accountable for every outcome.

Technology without operating excellence breaks in this business. I have built both.

That’s why I want to work with regional founders. You hold what matters most: the owner relationships and the judgment to run a building well. I’m building a national multifamily management company around teams like yours, with shared services, technology and business development behind them, so growth no longer depends on how many hours you have.

Joining means becoming one company. Your local team stays close to its buildings and owners, and your people get more time for them. We move to a common brand on a plan we agree before signing, and we agree your next role at the same time.

If you’re not ready to sell, write anyway. I’m glad to compare notes on operations, reporting or your market. Good conversations in this business rarely start with an agenda.

Looking forward to the conversation,

Jack Eljarrat
